Mon Kaczyk is an artist and an explorer, who examines the human condition and traverses topics on communication, stillness, and evolution. They analyze and question how we ingest information, and how we nourish our soul or value contrasting and expanding emotions. Kaczyk translates concepts through the use of sensorial and tactile materials, and utilizes personal possessions and natural materials, including garments, teabags, hair, or thorns.
They create objects both two and three dimensionally. Their mixed media approach stems from their diverse education. After receiving a BFA in design and photography at Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia and Rome, they explored in-depth workshops in encaustics, surface design, and metals. Kaczyk merges studio time with design, art direction, and teaching.
Awarded honors in design and contemporary quilts, today Kaczyk displays their artwork in select juried shows and group exhibitions.
